ColoradoCAL Statement Regarding COVID

March 11, 2020

The Colorado Center for Alternative Lifestyles (ColoradoCAL) is committed to providing educational and social services to our communities. Generally, our policy is to avoid cancelling events during adverse events, such as storms, and allow individuals to make the best choice for themselves.

However, in light of the current COVID-19 outbreak and the State of Emergency declared by Governor Polis on March 10th, we must consider a responsibility not only to individual members of our community, but also to the other members of public that we would be interacting with in public venues and during large gatherings.

In this case, the organizers of ColoradoCAL believe that an abundance of caution is warranted and that the health & welfare of the community must come first.

So, in consultation with the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and our partner venues we have made the decision to cancel all public events scheduled for the remainder of March 2020. This includes:

  • March 21 – Class: Jealousy and Codependency in Nonmonogamous Relationships
  • March 21 – Class: Setting Up Sustainable Dynamics
  • March 16 – Social Slosh: Platinum 84
  • March 23 – Social Slosh: Ginn Mill
  • March 28 – Social Slosh: Karaoke

In the coming weeks, we will make a decision regarding April events. For now, we plan to hold those events as scheduled. We will be accelerating projects already in the works to (hopefully) be able to deliver classes and content online and will attempt to have that ready in case any future classes need to be canceled.
